Taking place at Grand Ballroom in New York on November 4, 2009, the Secret Show served as a warm-up for Evanescence's headline show at Maquinária Festival in São Paulo, Brazil on the 8th.[1] Tickets were sold out in under half an hour after they were available on October 23.[2] EvClub members could be part of the pre-sale on the 21st.[1]
The lineup consisted of Amy Lee on vocals and piano, Terry Balsamo on guitar, Tim McCord on bass and Will Hunt on drums. Second guitarist Troy McLawhorn was reportedly unable to make the show and was replaced by Finger Eleven's James Black.
"Sweet Sacrifice" was removed from the setlist due a problem with Terry's guitar. Fans who attended the show noticed the electronic drums on the songs, hinting at the electronic direction the band was going to approach on their third album before their record label scrapped its original vision.
Amy wore a dress designed by her and Sherif Shalaby.[3]
