'Evanescence EP outtake'
"Give Unto Me" "My Immortal"

"Give Unto Me" is an outtake from the first EP, Evanescence EP. It is a dark piano ballad that Amy Lee composed for her music class at age 14.[citation needed] The song was omitted from the Evanescence EP. An instrumental version of the song was released on their next EP, Sound Asleep. This version has three synthesizer takes overlapping each other. The morse code heard at the end was an error that had happened while recording, causing a long note to start “beeping”. This faux Morse code would later be sampled in the Origin, Mystary, and Fallen versions of “My Immortal”, and in the demo version of “Breathe No More”.

In September 2019, a never-before-seen footage of a January 1999 show at Vino's leaked, in which Evanescence performs the song with additional percussion and backing vocals by Stephanie Pierce.[1]

Evanescence EP[]

I've been watching you from a distance
But distance sees through your disguise
All I want from you is your hurting
I want to heal you, I want to save you from the dark

Give unto me your troubles
I'll endure your suffering
Place onto me your burdens
I'll drink your deadly poison

Why should I care if they hurt you?
Somehow it matters more to me
Than if I were hurting myself
Save you, I'll save you

Fear not the flame of my love's candle

Give unto me your troubles
I'll endure your suffering
Place onto me your burdens
I'll drink your deadly poison

Give unto me your troubles
I'll endure your suffering
Place onto me your burdens
I'll drink your deadly poison

Fear not the flame of my love's candle
Let it be the sun in your world of darkness
