Mystary was a sampler EP for Evanescence's Fallen that was sold at the Juanita's show in Little Rock on January 13, 2003, shortly before Fallen was released in March 2003. It was sold at a merch table as an unmarked burned CD, with a misspelled marker from a worker at Juanita’s restaurant, "Mystary CD - 5$". This is how the EP got its name.

It contains two Fallen outtakes: "Farther Away" and the Mystary version of "My Immortal" (similar to the Band Version, but with vocals, piano and orchestra only) that was originally meant to be placed as track #4 on Fallen. However, their record label Wind-Up preferred the Origin version with added strings.[1] This version of “My Immortal” can only be found on the Mystary EP, and is the only unique track as all of the other tracks are studio versions either found on Fallen or Lost Whispers. A similar version, but with a different vocal take, was released on the 10th anniversary reissue of Fallen.

  1. The version of "My Immortal" used for the video and radio single isn't the same as the one off the band's record Fallen. Much to Lee's chagrin, Evanescence's label opted to use the band's demo version of the song on the record instead of the album recording. "The label was stuck on the demo and wouldn't let us use the version we really wanted," Lee said. "We fought back and forth about it and finally we gave in, but we were all so angry about it." - MTV News interview on November 2003
