You is a personal song attributed to Amy Lee originally intended for a select few people. It important to note that it is not included in Amy Lee's registered repertoire on It is a pre-Fallen song that the band asks fans not to download.

Ben Moody described the situation with the song on the Original Exodus Evanescence Board in early 2003 with the following post:

Since Origin, hehas taken the liberty of connecting himself with everything we've ever done. He even has gone to a studio that we recorded at (the owner of which was a friend of his) and made cd's of songs he was never supposed to have. One song in particular, was VERY private. He was FORBIDDEN to show it to anyone, since there was no way I could actually be sure I had every copy. COUNTLESS times people have commented on that song and how he showed it to them. When confronted, he just denies it or says that they heard it on accident or some bullshit. there's a very good chance some of you have it on your computer RIGHT NOW.

The Original Exodus Evanescence Board was a scrolling type board hosted by at the time this post was made (meaning old messages dropped off the bottom of the page and were not archived).

The words have been drained from this pencil
Sweet words that I want to give you
And I can't sleep
I need to tell you

When we're together, I feel perfect
When I'm pulled away from you, I fall apart
All you say is sacred to me
Your eyes are so blue
I can't look away
As we lay in the stillness
You whisper to me

Amy, marry me
Promise you'll stay with me
Oh you don't have to ask me
You know you're all that I live for
You know I'd die just to hold you
Stay with you
Somehow I'll show you
That you are my night sky
I've always been right behind you
Now I'll always be right beside you

So many nights I cried myself to sleep
Now that you love me, I love myself
I never thought I would say this
I never thought there'd be
